Wellesbourne U10s |
Following a strong start from Kenilworth, a great counter attack from Wellesbourne produced a corner which allowed Henry to half volley and score a brilliant goal. Wellesbourne continued with good possession and great passing. This produced a second goal from James C after 10 minutes. With four substitutions after 12 ˝ minutes, fresh legs in midfield continued to pressurise the Kenilworth goal. Kenilworth looked very dangerous when they attacked but Tom and Marcus controlled well at the back. Eventually Kenilworth’s persistence paid off and they made it 2-1 before half time. All change again for the second half, and with good work rate from the midfielders on tracking back to help the defence when needed. With great team spirit and accurate passing, Kenilworth were forced back to defend. This pressure then allowed James C to slot an amazing third goal with his left foot into the top of the net. Again substitutions and the four rested players were back on the pitch producing many attacks and corners but unfortunately we were unable to find the back of the net. Hard work from all the midfield and the defence allowed the game to end 3-1. A superb demonstration of passing at times and with fresh subs our performance was rewarded with a great win. Well done lads.
