Under 10 Falcons vs Lillington Jrs - Match Report (18/11/2017)
Monday November 20 2017Under 10's Falcons
Wellesbourne started well with an intricate passing move involving Charlie and Ned, which led to a perfectly executed shot from Ned into the bottom corner. Lillington soon equalised though, with a through ball down the middle to their striker, who finished nicely. Lillington then went ahead after a great save from Ollie, which unfortunately rebounded into the path of Lillington’s number ten. Jack levelled the score, coming through from defence and scoring with a long range effort into the bottom right-hand corner. Ollie’s fantastic first half performance in goal kept the Falcons in the game. Going into half-time, both teams had played some fluent football, making it a very exciting match. Both teams were putting in the work as well and a good example of this was Rory who had run up and down the right flank throughout the entire first half.
Lillington made another great through ball to their forward who finished confidently. They added a fourth, putting the away team in the driving seat. However, Wellesbourne came back through a perfectly delivered corner from Dylan into the back post, finding Tyler, who drove it into the back of the net. The game was not over, as Jack was brought down on the edge of the box. The referee, who had a good game, awarded a free kick in a dangerous position. Jack stood up and lashed it from range into the back of the net, which completed a brilliant comeback from the Falcons.
Both teams were pushing for a winner; Harvey came close on a couple of occasions getting into some excellent positions in the box. Charlie weaved his way through the opposition, posing a constant threat. Towards the end of the game, with both teams attacking well, Dylan marshalled the defence, whilst Ned made a couple of key saves.
