Coaching Standards

As a club, each volunteer or coach must have completed the following qualifications in order to work with children, to maintain our high standard of coaching at Wellesbourne Wanderers.

Club Volunteer/Team Assistant

The deadline for achieving 2, 3 and 4 below is Tuesday 31st August 2021. You will need to use your FA account to login, which matches the one we have on file for your DBS. Please get in touch if you are unsure.

  1. A DBS check. This must be from The FA, as DBS certificates from other authorities are not transferable.
  2. A Safeguarding Children Course online qualification via The FA Bootroom website. This costs £30 and will be refunded by the club upon completion of the course.
  3. A valid FA First Aid qualification, now available online. Around 2 hours to complete in total and can be done in smaller modules over the course of several days. This costs £30 and will be refunded by the club upon completion of the course.
  4. Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest online qualifications via The FA Bootroom website.
  5. The FA Playmaker online course (for 14 year olds and above). This will take around 4-5 hours to complete.
  6. The FA Respect for Coaches online course. Around 30 minutes to complete.

Team Manager

  1. A current and valid DBS check. This must be from The FA, as DBS certificates from other authorities are not transferable.
  2. A Safeguarding Children qualification, or online re-certification when this expires. This costs £30 and will be refunded by the club upon completion of the course. Re-certifications are free.
  3. A valid FA First Aid qualification, now available online. Around 2 hours to complete in total. This costs £30 and will be refunded by the club upon completion of the course.
  4. The FA Playmaker course is a pre-requisite qualification before taking the Introduction to Coaching Football course.
  5. A minimum of Introduction to Coaching Football (formerly the FA Level 1 Coaching Football) online qualification. It costs £160 and includes First Aid and Safeguarding courses, so you don’t need to book onto those above as they form part of the £160 fee.
